Meet the Recruiters

Chris
Senior Recruiter

What qualities makes someone successful at LT?
They have grit and they’re fun to work with. Someone with those two traits will accomplish great things at LendingTree.

What would you give as an interview tip to someone?
Prepare, prepare, prepare. Learn everything you can about the company and the people you’ll be interviewing with. You need to spend time practicing your answers to likely interview questions. The 7th time you give an answer to a question will inevitably be much better than your 1st, so let the first 6 times be in front of a mirror. Situational questions can me the most difficult to answer so spend most of your time practicing them. Also, looking at the job descriptions for other positions will give you a better understanding of the traits the company likes to see. Lastly, you should practice doing case studies – there are a ton of examples online.

What is your favorite aspect about your job?
The people! Yes, LendingTree is very selective in who we hire but a great byproduct of that is we get to work with bright, passionate, hard-working people every day.

If you had a time machine that would work only once, what point in history would you want to visit?
I would go back to March, 14, 44 BC and tell Julius Caesar to call in sick for work the next day.

Name one thing on your “bucket list”.
Answering questions for a Recruiting Spotlight. Check.

What advice have you received that’s been the most rewarding?
Never play cards with a guy who has a city for a first name. “Chicago” Miller and “Detroit” Johnson will clean you out. Every. Single. Time.

Megan
Recruiter

Why did you choose to work at LT?
I was excited by the opportunity to work for a company with brand recognition yet a really unique culture. I wanted a company that would afford me the opportunity to grow as a professional and make a true impact while also being able to maintain a life outside of work. LendingTree fit the bill!

What would you give as an interview tip to someone?
You are being interviewed by everyone throughout the entire interview process. That means be nice and professional to everyone including the recruiter, the receptionist, the interviewers, and even employees that you walk by on the way to your interview room. Impressions are everything, especially in a company that values our culture and collaboration.

What has been your most memorable moment at LT?
My first “all-hands-on-deck” meeting, which we call our Quarterly Town Hall meetings. The candor of our CEO and our Executive team was refreshing and unlike anything I ever imagined witnessing. We really are committed to being open and candid!

If you had a time machine that would work only once, what point in history would you want to visit?
I would go to Woodstock 1969 to watch some of the greatest Rock Legends perform while they were still alive. Either that, or go back to when all the Beatles were alive and attempt to become one of Paul McCartney’s love interests so I could have a classic song about me that transcends generations!

Name one thing on your “bucket list”.
Go to Chengdu China and cuddle with a big group of baby Pandas.
